【駒沢園】Twinklekids Komazawa’s Play Setting

Where Light, Imagination, and Exploration Come Together

At Twinklekids Komazawa, our play environment is thoughtfully designed to invite curiosity,

creativity, and meaningful exploration. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we see the

environment as the “third teacher,” where carefully prepared spaces encourage children to

discover, experiment, and express themselves freely.

Our play setting offers a variety of open-ended experiences that respond to children’s interests.

In our sensory areas, children explore materials such as colored salt, sand, and water,

transforming them into imaginative worlds. With the addition of animals and dinosaurs, children

engage in storytelling, role play, and early scientific thinking as they build landscapes and create

their own narratives.

Twinklekids Komazawaでは、子どもたちの好奇心や創造力、そして主体的な探究心を育むために、

環境を大切に整えています。レッジョ・エミリア・アプローチの考えを取り入れながら、

子どもたちが自由に発見し、試し、表現できる空間づくりを行っています。

私たちの遊びの環境には、子どもたちの興味や関心に応じて自由に広がる、さまざまな遊びが用意されています。

感覚遊びのエリアでは、カラーソルトや砂、水などの素材に触れながら、子どもたちは想像の世界を広げていきます。

動物や恐竜のフィギュアを加えることで、物語を作ったり、ごっこ遊びを楽しんだりしながら、自分だけの世界を表現し、科学的な思考の芽生えも育まれていきます。

 

 

Alongside this, our light and shadow zone provides a unique space for visual exploration. Using

translucent blocks and light, children investigate color, shape, and reflection. As they build

structures and observe how light passes through different materials, they begin to notice

patterns, symmetry, and changes in color—developing both curiosity and critical thinking skills.

また、ライト＆シャドウゾーンでは、光を使った視覚的な探究を楽しむことができます。

透明感のある積み木や光を使いながら、子どもたちは色や形、光の反射について発見を重ねていきます。

さまざまな素材を通して光の変化を観察する中で、模様や対称性、色の変化に気づき、好奇心と考える力を育んでいきます。

 

 

In the block area, children are encouraged to construct, design, and collaborate. Through

building towers, bridges, and imaginative structures, they explore balance, spatial awareness,

and problem-solving. This area supports not only creativity but also perseverance and teamwork,

as children share ideas and work together.

ブロックエリアでは、子どもたちが自由に作り、考え、友だちと協力しながら遊ぶことができます。

塔や橋、想像の建物などを作る中で、バランス感覚や空間認識、問題解決する力を身につけていきます。

また、友だちとアイデアを共有しながら一緒に作り上げる経験を通して、創造力だけでなく、粘り強さや協調性も育まれていきます。

 

 

Our pretend play zone offers opportunities for children to imitate real-life experiences,

particularly through kitchen play. Here, children engage in imaginative role play—preparing

meals, serving food, and acting out familiar routines. This type of play nurtures social skills,

language development, and emotional expression as children make sense of the world around

them.

ごっこ遊びのエリアでは、特にキッチン遊びを通して、日常生活を再現する遊びを楽しんでいます。

料理を作ったり、食事を運んだりと、身近な生活を表現する中で、子どもたちは想像力を広げながら、社会性や言葉の力、感情を表現する力を育んでいきます。

 

 

Throughout all these spaces, teachers take on the role of observers and co-learners. By listening

closely and providing thoughtful materials, we support children in extending their ideas and

deepening their understanding.
